ISAC distributed I/O modules have several features that make them ideal for applications in numerical control machines.
They have a very compact shape that facilitates DIN rail mounting. All connections are exposed via removable spring-loaded connectors, for easy wiring and module replacement without having to attach wires.
Their stable and secure connections avoid connection problems.
Inside, the modules contain extensive self-diagnostic and wiring error protection features, and expose information over the EtherCAT network to diagnostic software during machine commissioning, or to automation logic during machine operation.
The general architecture of the modules includes an EtherCAT bus coupler with the internal bus, and a series of modules, each with a specific functionality, described below. These modules can expose functionality on the bus coupler node, or create additional EtherCAT nodes in the network.
