Customer: AES – CNC İşleme Merkezleri

Introduction

The company AES needed to introduce to the market a machine for the production of wooden doors and kitchen panels. The process involved roughing and the use of various tools and some aggregates for surface and side machining, and drilling.

Machining was to proceed in one area while the operator loaded in the opposite area. If requested, the same program for the left door would also produce a right part.

The user requested a simple and intuitive operator interface, and integrated with third-party CAM to generate the program.

Solution

ISAC has proposed a model CNC capable of controlling servo drives with various interfaces, from pulses/direction to Mechatrolink. The interpolation quality is indeed very high for all supported interfaces.

Thanks to the fact that the CNC runs in a PC environment, it is possible to also run CAM software within the same environment and it is possible to easily integrate HMIs developed by the customer.

Exploited capacities

  • Affine transformation capabilities of the program: mirror, rototranslation, etc.
  • Trajectory interpolation with constant Jerk control.
  • High-speed interpolation algorithms
  • Velocity Feed Forward to minimize tracking error during interpolation
  • PC-based architecture, capable of hosting CAMs running on Windows.
  • PLC code developed in IEC61131 for easy maintenance and which takes advantage of the ISAC libraries to manage the main aspects of the application.

Results

  • Production times of the application much smaller than machines CNC-produced of the competition.
  • Reduced production times for the processing of decorations and inlays.
  • Excellent quality of the machined surface due to the absence of sudden movements of the mechanics.
