Introduction

The firm Jekran builds machines for cutting metal sheets by means of water cutting, with plasma source, and with oxy-reduction. Some machines have two or more torches mounted on the beam for cutting with different technologies.

The size of the machines varies from very small to large, with the possibility of using stepper motors. The beam is the main component of the machine and must be moved by two motors on the sides.

The plasma source used has a digital interface for defining the cutting parameters. The CNC must communicate with this interface.

Solution

ISAC offered Costantino CNC with ready to work application.

The axis interface chosen was pulses / direction, which allows to optimize the performance for step axes and reach, sometimes exceed, the nominal characteristics of the motors.

Results

The CAM offered by Jekran has the possibility to define the cutting parameters as well as the machining geometry. The direct import of geometry from DXF and the use of parametric figures also offers important ways of use for the machine operator.

The installation of the prototype of the various machines was carried out in a few hours. Mass production is quick and easy.
