Simon It is ISAC's Digital Twin, capable of simulating the processing cycles on machine tools, robots or systems in maximum detail.
Simon allows you to simulate multi-channel concurrent machining operations and complex machining cycles consisting of interpolated movements, synchronized movements, and other automatic or pneumatic movements. To do this, it uses the same controller engine and PLC logic installed on the real machine for absolute fidelity.
During the simulation, Simon identifies mechanical collisions, syntax errors, limit switch violations, physical and kinematic constraint violations, and trajectory deviations from the programmed path. He records the state of the controller and the machine at all times. At the end of the simulation, he makes the recording available for investigation around the identified events or for later playback.
Simon collects data collected by the real controller during a real job, correlates it with the state of the simulation, and then uses very powerful data analysis tools to identify critical job issues and deviations from the ideal model.
Simon carves the raw material with realistically shaped tools and obtains an approximation of the finished part to be created, then allows the machining result to be compared with the model to be obtained, and highlights gouges and excess metal left.
Simon also interacts with the machine's control logic to stimulate it under operating conditions and cover possible use cases in the verification, or simulate the desired behavior before programming the automation components.
